We have another Buhari in Tinubu, says Doguwa

House Majority Leader Ado Doguwa on Tuesday presented Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu as a different version of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Doguwa argued during a live appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today that Buhari’s security and education scorecard was limited by the eight-year constitutional limit.

“If you talk about the level of our education, whether it is universal primary or secondary or even tertiary, we have made a very significant improvement in this area,” he said.

“The fact is that Muhammadu Buhari cannot be expected to do everything at once – a four or eight year term cannot solve the mess and the problems that we have had in the course of removal of PDP mismanagement.

“It takes us much longer than four or eight years to complete all of these things. And the fact remains that now you have a Buhari again. Now you have master strategists. Now you have an expert planner.

The leader of the house described the presidential hopeful as “someone who can think ahead” with international connections and an exemplary governor of Lagos State.

“The belief is that the APC, which will now be taken over by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will definitely consolidate and build on the gains already made by President Muhammadu Buhari. It’s a gradual process. Muhammadu Buhari has done his part,” he said.

Speaking about security in the country, Doguwa said the situation had “significantly improved” under Buhari, adding that when it comes to the North West, some factors to consider are the region’s population, literacy level and “our complexity “. “

“But I want to assure you that we have raised (the literacy rate) to a very impressive level, to the point that – through universal elementary education in places like my state, Kano state, where you have a governor who has declared the school primary and secondary compulsory and free school education – we have come a long way in trying to really improve the problem of dropouts or children not going to school and I believe some other states like Kaduna (and) Katsina where you have the digital governor, ( Nasir) El-Rufai, they too have reached a peak,” he said.
