A total of 1,150 counterfeit US dollars were put into circulation, consisting of one 50 denomination with serial number MB53350153A.
In further questioning, it was determined that 22-year-old AU (F) had obtained the counterfeit money in Kyrenia by selling his mobile phone to 24-year-old UCA (M).
Legal action has been taken against AU for fraudulent possession, circulation and gambling. UCA, on the other hand, was arrested.
