Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu stated that they are working to make the Lefke region a tourism development zone and said that the efforts to bring this region to tourism do not belong to the present.

Ataoğlu said that they started working on the SPO and the Tourism Planning Department to work together and to control the exemptions more tightly in order to eliminate the income loss from the incentives.
Stating that the Tourism Development Law has been amended and the work on the law will end on Friday, Ataoğlu said, “There are deficiencies from the past. Unfortunately, there is a lack of supervision. This arrangement is also important for increasing the number of hotels and beds.”
Ataoğlu stated that the report of the Court of Accounts regarding the agencies that were given an incentive of 10 million Euros reached their hands a week ago and that necessary cuts will be made upon the examination of the report.
