The police detected and arrested the person who was trying to illegally pass meat from Southern Cyprus to the North at around 8:00 today.
According to the information given by the Police Press Officer, as a result of the operation carried out by the police at the Metehan Kara Entrance Gate in Nicosia at around 08:00, the 50-year-old MOH illegally transported 93 kilos of beef, which he had bought from the Greek Cypriot Administration (GCA) region, with the vehicle at his disposal.
He was found red-handed while he was about to transfer to the TRNC.
The person in question was arrested for “disposal of duty-free property”.
Police investigation into the matter continues.
