YS, who was arrested within the scope of the “Crossroad 2 Operation” carried out on the Nicosia – Gaziköy road, was brought before the court again.
Since there were similar crimes in his criminal file, he was ordered to remain in prison for a period not exceeding 3 months.
Police officer Kaan Kurtbir, who stated in the court that the suspect was charged with the crimes of “Illegal drugs” and “Taking, Giving and Saving Drugs”, stated that Y.S was convicted of robbery and was released on probation.
He also stated that he had three separate convictions for violating the military restricted zone.
The police demanded that the suspect be held in pre-trial detention, as he could commit similar crimes if released.
Evaluating the testimony given in his presence, Judge Hazal Hacımulla ordered the suspect to be held in prison for a period not exceeding 3 months.
What had happened?
As part of the “Crossroad 2 Operation” carried out by the Narcotics team on 22 August, the police saw the suspect’s vehicle suspiciously on the Nicosia-Gaziköy main road and a traffic accident occurred.
As a result of what happened during the operation, 0 grams of cocaine, 40 grams of cannabis, 150 Euros and 3 thousand TL cash were found in the back seat of the vehicle the suspect was driving.
During the search of the suspect’s house, 89 grams of jute cannabis in the empty room in his courtyard and 10 grams of cocaine in two separate bags were detected.
Within the scope of the investigation, the suspect took the said items to H.Ç.C. in Famagusta.
It turned out that through a person named FK, who lives in the south of Cyprus, confessed that he had sent it.
