Suspect arrested for battering girlfriend await trial

The suspect, who seriously battered his lover in Gönyeli, was brought before the court. The judge ordered that the suspect be remanded pending trial on the condition that he deposits a security of 15 thousand TL and a guarantor of a TRNC citizen signs a guarantee of 100 thousand TL.

The suspect Bekhruzjon Turaev, who was arrested in connection with the serious assault that took place in Gönyeli, was brought before the court.

Police officer Fatma Çelikiz, who gave sworn testimony in the court, reported the facts.

The police stated that the suspect, 26-year-old Bekhruzjon Turaev, was involved in serious assault crimes that took place in Nicosia.

Following the argument between them on the grounds that Bekhruzjon Turaev, a resident in Nicosia, had changed the schedule they made to go to the sea and stay until the evening.

In front of the complainant’s apartment in Gönyeli, where he resided at around 11.30 yesterday, the police said, he hit her head in the back of the vehicle with EP 735′ plate, hit her head in the back seat, and after she got out of the vehicle, he grabbed her hand and pushed her with his hands, causing her back to hit the wall, closing her mouth with his right hand and squeezing her throat.

The police stated that, on same day, she was checked by a doctor at the Dr Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital emergency room, and a doctor’s report was obtained that he had marks of assault and force on her body.

The police said that the same day, the suspect was arrested after obtaining a pending warrant from the Nicosia District Court and that he voluntarily gave a statement and admitted his guilt.

The police stated that the investigation was completed and demanded that an appropriate collateral be attached.

Judge Nil Elodie Çeliker, who evaluated the testimony given in her presence, said that the suspect was banned from going abroad for the purpose of being present at the trial, report to the nearest police station once a week, deposit a cash of 15 thousand TL and a guarantor from a TRNC citizen sign a bail bond of 100 thousand TL.

He ordered that he be remanded pending trial.
