The Cyprus Peace Council stated that Greek Cypriot Andreas Soudjis, who is still in detention, is an advocate of bi-communal cooperation and should be released.
The Cyprus Peace Council stated that the Greek Cypriot Andreas Soudjis, who has been detained for 14 days, advocates strengthening the cooperation and solidarity between the two communities in order to reunite the island, and that Soudjis’s detention for days violates these principles and deepens the division and mistrust between the two communities.
In the statement, Andreas Soudjis has proven for many years that he is an advocate of bi-communal cooperation and mutual understanding with his activities and path.
We call on the Turkish Cypriot authorities to end the detention of Andreas Soudjis and release him immediately.
