Our intention was for a radical solution – Ünal Üstel

Ünal Üstel, who was appointed as the Prime Minister, made a statement regarding the abolition of the Famagusta-Yeniboğaziçi- İskele Ordinance.

Üstünel said, “The step taken by our government was actually aimed at bringing radical solutions to the problems that have the potential to create irreparable situations for our country in this region. The intention was to eliminate the grievances created by creating a common ground, and to make the arrangements that are really needed for the country immediately.”

Ustal also claimed that they aim to protect nature and said, “Let’s achieve this without harming investors while protecting the environment, nature and our historical riches.”

Here is the description:

As the Prime Minister, my aim is to go over the problems and produce solutions by considering the social benefit. For this, I am resolutely addressing the problems that have been gangrenous for years.

We took a step with this basic approach on the “Famagusta-Yenibogaziçi-Iskele Transition”. With the prolongation of the ordinance implementation in this region, serious negativities and future grievances began to be experienced in the economy of the region and the country.

Our government has taken a decision to eliminate the negativities and withdrew the order. While withdrawing the order, the main purpose was to eliminate the deficiencies that existed during the preparation of the zoning plan, by working in cooperation with all relevant parties, and by emphasizing common sense in a prudent manner.

Thus, the problems experienced in the region and which are candidates to affect the country’s economy in a very serious way will be resolved.

The step taken by our government was actually aimed at bringing radical solutions to the problems that have the potential to create irreparable situations for our country in this region.

The intention was to eliminate the grievances created by creating a common ground and to make the necessary arrangements together immediately for the country.

We have never had an understanding of covering up or postponing existing problems. We deal with problems with an understanding that knows that problems cannot be hidden by sweeping them under the carpet.

We will continue to go. When we took a step on the “Famagusta-Yenibogazici-Iskele Transition”, our goal was to develop the people of the region and the country while there was a huge economic crisis in the world, and to end the stagnation that causes difficulties for our people who make a living in the region.

Finding a solution that will eliminate the problems in our country is now ahead of everything for us. Getting out of the situation you are in is essential. For this, it should be essential to offer a fair solution to all segments.

A healthy, sustainable economic structure, we will continue to act with the awareness that it can be created with strong and planned structures. In this process, the main thing for us is to provide solutions to existing problems without creating new grievances.

Knowing the fact that every protracted and unresolved problem creates new victims, we demonstrate the political will to solve the problems with a sense of responsibility. I invite all parties to act with the same sense of responsibility and to act with the understanding of contributing to the solution instead of complicating the existing problems without creating new victims.

Problems are not solved by waiting. Let’s go over the problems together and find common solutions. While doing this, let’s achieve this without harming the investors, while protecting the environment, nature and our historical riches.
