Newborn allegedly kidnapped found, investigation continues

Making a statement about the baby allegedly “abducted” in Nicosia State Hospital, the police announced that it was determined that the mother gave the baby to someone else to take care of it before the operation.

The allegations that a newborn baby was abducted at Dr Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital turned out to be false.

The police announced that it was determined that the mother, who had undergone surgery, gave the baby to someone else to take care of her on the grounds that she would have surgery.

According to the statement made by the Police Press Officer, the baby in question was delivered to the Social Services Department.

The following statement was made by the police:

“In the investigation carried out regarding the baby, who was found not to be in the Dr Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital Gynecology Service after giving birth, a woman who applied to the police with her lawyer today revealed that the baby in question was given to her in the hospital to take care of the baby on the grounds that her mother will have an operation. The baby in question was handed over to the Social Services Department officials for care. The investigation into the incident continues.”
