According to the news in the Turkish media, it has been reported that the payment of the salaries of the academic staff of the METU Northern Cyprus Campus Rectorate has been postponed indefinitely. It was claimed that the employees could not find anyone authorized to talk to.
In an e-mail sent by the METU vice-rector and the Northern Cyprus Campus Rectorate on 29 August, it was reported that the payment of the salaries to be paid to the academic staff on 31 August was postponed indefinitely .
Employees who wanted to get information could not find anyone who could explain to them in the rectorate building on the Cyprus Campus.
As of today, it remains unclear when and how these grievances of academics, who still have not received their salaries, will be eliminated.
Here is the email sent to the employees:
“Dear Academic Staff,
Salary payments for August will not be made on 31 August 2022. A re-informing announcement will be made regarding the salary payment date.
Please provide your information.
Campus Rectorate”
