Ambulance driver arrested for traffic accident, investigation continues

Mehmet Ali Ulaş, a 28-year-old ambulance driver who had a traffic accident in Nicosia yesterday, was arrested.

According to the written statement made by the Police Press Officer, Mehmet Ali Ulaş was trying to pass by the saloon vehicle with GR 495 plate, under the direction of 69-year-old Ayşe Tarhun, on Rauf Denktaş street at around 20.40 hours, when two vehicles collided.

The ambulance, which was blown away by the impact of the collision, also crashed into the garden wall on the right of the road.

Ayşe Tarhun, the driver of the vehicle with license plate GR 495 was injured as a result of the accident, and 88-year-old Süheyla Vural who was sick in the ambulance, were taken to the hospital.

After their treatment, Süheyla Vural was observed in the internal medicine service, and Ayşe Tarhun was observed in the intensive care unit after the operation.

It was noted that Ulaş, the driver of the ambulance vehicle with SD 081 plate, was arrested and the investigation continues.
