In the event that the “(Special) Law on the Unification of Municipalities” passed by the Parliament with the votes of the ruling party receives the approval of Ersin Tatar, who serves as the President, and enters into force, the names of Gönyeli Municipality and Değirmenlik Municipality will be changed.
The proposal of Nicosia Deputy Sadık Gardiyanoğlu regarding the “renaming of the municipalities of Gönyeli and Değirmenlik” was approved by the government while the bill was being voted item by item.
In this context, the name of Değirmenlik Municipality will be merged with Akıncılar Municipality, which will be closed by law, and will be changed to “Değirmenlik – Akıncılar Municipality”.
On the other hand, the name of Gönyeli Municipality will be merged with Alayköy Municipality, which will be closed by law, and will be changed as “Gönyeli – Alayköy Municipality”.
Speaking about the “justification” of the proposal in question, Gardiyanoğlu said, “The proposal is about the protection of names,” and said, “If there is a desire to renew it, it will be done.”
Erhürman: “When most of the residents of Gönyeli and Alayköy were asleep, a ‘Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality’ was born”
On the other hand, CTP Chairman Tufan Erhürman, who made a statement on the subject on social media, said, “At 4:30 in the morning, while the majority of the residents of Gönyeli and Alayköy were asleep, the deputies of the government, who were aware of this change at that moment, made a “Gönyeli” light ball with their fingers. – Alayköy Municipality said “he was born”.
Tufan Erhürman made the following statements in his statement:
At 4:30 in the morning, while the majority of the residents of Gönyeli and Alayköy were asleep, a “Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality” was “born”, like a light ball, with the fingers of the deputies of the government who were aware of this change at that moment.
It was born in quotation marks, because by reading the Law it is impossible to legally understand when the municipalities of Gönyeli and Alayköy will lose their legal personality and when the “new Alayköy Municipality of Gönyeli” will gain legal personality!
It is like a summary of the understanding of “democracy” and “law” displayed throughout this work!.
