Police officer İbrahim Toz, who gave sworn testimony in the court, reported the facts.
The police stated that the suspect Yasin Süygün was involved in the crime of “Buying, Giving and Saving Illegal Drugs, Cocaine and Cannabis”.
Explaining that the suspect’s vehicle was considered suspicious on the Nicosia-Gaziköy main road and that a traffic accident occurred during the operation.
Toz stated that 50 grams of cocaine in the back seat of the suspect’s vehicle and 150 Euros and 3 thousand TL of the drug believed to be 40 grams of cannabis were taken as evidence.
The police stated that the suspect was taken to the hospital for control and was discharged the same day.
After the suspect’s uncle confessed that he had put some drugs in the empty room in the courtyard of his residence, a search carried out in his residence in Vadili between 18.00 and 19.00 hours revealed that 95 grams of jute cannabis and 8 grams of cocaine in two separate bags were found, and there was an indication.
On the same day, in the investigation and voluntary statement obtained from the suspect made from the suspect Süygün, the items found in the vehicle and at his residence in Famagusta on the day of the incident, through the help of the suspect Hasan Çağakan Çaka, in a quiet and safe place in Southern Cyprus.
He stated that it has been learned that if the suspect Süygün sends the wanted person to the locations to be determined by this person via WhatsApp Business, he will earn 20 Euros for each package.
Pointing out that the resident suspect Çaka was found at his residence in Famagusta at 20.50 hours on the same day and was arrested as per a court order.
Toz said that a search was conducted in the residence of the suspect between 20.55-21.10 hours with a court order, and a weight of approximately 2 grams was found in the nightstand drawer in his bedroom. He stated that the substance believed to be a cannabis type drug was found and taken as an indication.
On the same day, in the investigations made from the suspect Çaka regarding the issue and in the voluntary statement obtained, he imported the drugs from the Beyarmudu Kara Entrance Gate to the TRNC, upon the direction and request of the suspect Süygün on the day of the incident, in front of the Türkmenköy Mosque.
He stated that it was learned that he met and delivered the subject drugs and bought the subject drug that he had in his possession with 500 TL money.
In the investigations made on the matter and in the messages sent between the suspect Çaka and the suspect Çaka, with the volunteer statement obtained from the suspect Süygün, it was learned that Çaka gave 150 Euros and 3 thousand TL in cash to the suspect Süygün on the day of the incident in exchange for the cannabis weighing 27 grams.
Toz said that investigations are continuing in this direction, both suspects have given a voluntary statement confessing their crimes, but the voluntary statements they have given have not been completed yet, although the confirmation and refutation studies have started.
The police stated that the drugs were sent to the State Chemistry Laboratory and no results have been received yet.
Stating that the investigation launched against the suspects is a serious and comprehensive issue, there are two people wanted and there are signs believed to be missing.
Toz demanded that both suspects be kept in police custody for 6 days in terms of the safety of the investigation.
Evaluating the testimony given in his presence, Judge Hazal Hacımulla ordered the suspect to be detained for 6 days so that the investigation could be conducted safely.
