Suspect arrested for military zone violation awaits trial

Criminal fraudster Erdi Konyalıoğlu said that he violated the military forbidden zone and did it ‘accidentally’. The suspect will be held pending trial.

Erdi Konyalıoğlu, the convicted fraudster who was caught red-handed while violating the military forbidden zone, was arrested and brought before the court.

Police officer Aytan Özoğlu, who gave sworn testimony in the court, stated that the suspect Erdi Konyalıoğlu was involved in the crime of “Violating the Military Forbidden Zone in the First Degree”.

The police stated that the suspect violated the military forbidden zone at the first degree in Çağlayan on Saturday, 27 August at 01.00 and was caught red-handed on the contact line, and stated that the suspect had mistakenly violated the military forbidden zone.

Özoğlu stated that the investigation initiated against the suspect had been completed and demanded that the court be bound to the appropriate guarantee.

Evaluating the testimony given in his presence, Judge Hazal Hacımulla ordered the suspect to be tried pending trial on the condition that he is prohibited from going abroad, that he present himself to the police two times a week, that two credible TRNC citizen guarantors sign a personal bail bond worth 150 thousand TL.
