Mehmet Seyis: Hospital management responsible for our deteriorating health

Mehmet Seyis, the former chairman of Dev-İş, stated that the patients originating from the Chief Physician in Famagusta State Hospital are suffering, and our health is getting worse due to the hospital management.

Mehmet Seyis, the former chairman of the Revolutionary Workers’ Unions Federation (Dev-İş), made a statement on his social media account.

Addressing the patients who were aggrieved by the Chief Physician at Famagusta State Hospital, Seyis noted that the patients treated at Famagusta State Hospital were collecting signatures for their health rights and demanding that the doctor come to Famagusta State Hospital.

“OUR DOCTOR HAS NO OBJECTION TO WORKING IN BOTH REGIONS”

Stating that their doctor, Mustafa Akansoy, had a request to work both in Nicosia, Seyis said, “Mustafa Akansoy had no objection to working both in Nicosia and Famagusta.”

Pointing to the authorities, Seyis said, “If the authorities wanted to serve the patients, our request could have been fulfilled. But unfortunately, the problem has not been resolved for months,” he said.

“OUR HEALTH IS GOING TOWARDS FROM HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT”

Mehmet Seyis stated that his own health and that of other patients deteriorated due to the management of the hospital.

Seyis made the following statements about his health:

“During this period, I am sorry to say that some of us have had a bad course due to the disruption of our treatments due to the management of Famagusta State Hospital. Since they have irreversible diseases, the progress has been permanent for us and has opened the way for our diseases to progress further.”

Sayis stated that a doctor had offered him “Come, request, I’ll have my doctor examine you in my own room in Famagusta.” . I would not accept such an offer if I died. Everyone should know that I don’t want anything for myself alone. The requests are not only for me, but for more than 700 signatory patient relatives and around 50 patients. We will complete this path, one way or another, but in the end, together with those we set out on.”

Seyis explains:

“In the same program, besides the offer of the Chief Physician of Famagusta State Hospital, the other words he said were actually inconsistent. For example; He is the one who prevented our doctor from treating us in Famagusta, but he complains that I did not call him. Frankly, I still don’t understand why he should be called. I went on behalf of all of us and talked to the Minister of Health, but of course we will meet with him as well.”

Seyis stated that a delegation of patients should be formed and the press should be discussed in such a way that they can be invited.

Seyis stated that he would ask for an appointment in the coming days and said, “We will go and meet if an appointment is made.”
