Nigerian Army organises training for social media influencers in Anambra


The Nigerian Army has organised its 18th Edition of the Social Media Seminar for Bloggers & Social Media Influencers, with the theme “The Nigerian Army’s  Non-Kinetic Line of Operation: Critical Roles of the Social Media”. 

The seminar was organised by the Army Headquarters, Department of Civil Military Affairs in conjunction with Security Affairs International

Addressing the participants at the event held today, Thursday 10th March 2022 at the Hilton Leisure Resort and Hotels Awka, Anambra State, the Chief of Civil Military Affairs, Major General Marcus Kangye noted that the seminar which started in 2018, is one of the ways the Nigerian Army interacts with the civil populace to foster a harmonious and cordial Civil- Military relations. 

General Kangye called on social media influencers, bloggers/online journalists to rally support for the Nigerian Army and also encourage them to enlighten the general populace on the dangers of misinformation/fake news for the general security of Nigeria. 

He noted that the seminar became necessary having understood that millions of Nigerians rely on social media platforms as their sources of information, hence, the need for the influencers and online journalists to fact-check every information at their disposals before sharing on their various social media platforms and websites.
