Lagos NURTW seeks withdrawal of MC Oluomo’s ‘unwarranted’ suspension

The Lagos State Council Group of Elders of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has written to the national body, seeking a way out of the crisis rocking the union.

In a letter dated March 14 jointly signed by Mr Samuel Jonah, Alhaji Alao Adewuyi, Alhaji Alamu Otegbeye, Mrs Bola Lemboye and Comrade Stephen Fatusi, the elders appealed to the national body to immediately revoke the suspension letter given to the union’s Lagos State Council Chairman Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (aka MC Oluomo).
They described the suspension as unwarranted.
The group also enjoined the national body to withdraw the appointment letter given to Alhaji Jubril Abiola as the State Chairman of Tricycle Owners and Operators Association of Nigeria (TOOAN) in Lagos State.
According to them, the action is unconstitutional, adding that there cannot be two chairmen in a state.
“We expect the withdrawal of the two letters within seven days to enable us conclude the settlement of the crisis once and for all,” the group said.
