Paul Okoye’s wife Anita files for divorce, demands $15,000 for monthly maintenance

Anita Okoye, the wife of Nigerian singer, Paul Okoye aka Rude Boy, one half of the defunct music group P-Square, has filed for divorce.

Anita requested the dissolution of her marriage with Paul, as per a partly redacted court document that surfaced and went viral on social media platforms on Friday.
According to the petition filed at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Anita cited “irreconcilable difference”.
Anita Okoye, the estranged wife of Nigerian music star Paul Okoye, has demanded he pay $15,000 (N7.8M) monthly as spousal support.⁣
This is part of the demands she made in the petition she filed before an Abuja High Court.⁣
“Payment of a monthly maintenance sum of $15,000.00 (US Dollars) for the general welfare, education and health of the three children of the union who are presently in schools in the United States of America until they are of age,” part of the document read.⁣
The news about the celebrity couple’s split broke on Friday, August 20, 2021.⁣
She also advised her now estranged husband in the legal document to challenge the petition if he feels disgruntled.⁣

Anita first sparked divorce rumours in April when it was reported that she relocated with their three children to the United States of America.

In 2019, she was accused by a popular aphrodisiac vendor of buying items to keep her marriage together. The vendor later took down the story from Instagram.
The couple met in 2004 during their undergraduate days at the University of Abuja and got married on Saturday, March 22, 2014 in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
The union has produced a boy, Andre, born on April 11, 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia, US. In 2017, they were blessed with a set of twins, a boy and girl, Nathan and Nadia.
The petition demands Paul be responsible for the general welfare of their three kids in the United States of America.⁣
