A family have been left devastated after a two-year-old girl died when a mobile phone charger she touched gave her a lethal electric shock.
Sara Alves de Albuquerque was killed in the municipality of Erere, Brazil, after putting her hands on the appliance.
This two-year-old was rushed to a local hospital but passed away despite battling medics doing all they could to save her life.
Police are to now investigate the circumstances surrounding the youngster’s death on Monday.
The country registered 355 deaths from electric shocks last year alone.
It has not yet been revealed what make of phone was involved, or whether it was a charger from a recognised brand.

Emanuelle Gomes Martins, the town’s mayor, paid tribute to the girl on Facebook.
He wrote: “The government of Erere expresses deep regret for the death of the child Sara Alves de Albuquerque.

Social media users have also paid tribute to the child after her death at her home in north-eastern Brazil earlier this week.
Local Viviane Gomes Freitas said: “Rest in peace, little Sara.
“You’re a little angel with little wings now. Take care of your mummy from up there above, you hear?”
Celia Paiva wrote: “There are moments when we cannot find the words to externalise our feelings, above all when it’s reported about a child.
“I wish them a lot of strength. May God comfort her parents’, relatives’ and friends’ suffering hearts.”
It comes after a teen was killed after suffering an electric shock in the bath after dropped her charging mobile phone into the water.
The victim, identified as Anna K, was found after a neighbour reported a water leak through his ceiling.
Her charging phone was found in the full bath last August.
Paramedics confirmed that the 15-year-old had died from an electric shock.
