Man Arraigned for Allegedly Stealing N10m in Kano


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today July 19, 2021 arraigned one Ibrahim Yuguda before Justice Maryam Sabo of the Kano State High Court on a one count charge of criminal breach of trust.

The charge read that “You Ibrahim Yuguda between April 2018 and February 2019 at Kano within the jurisdiction of the Kano State High Court being entrusted with certain property to wit: the sum of N10, 800,000 (Ten Million, Eight Hundred Thousand Naira) only property of Mohammed Ibrahim did dishonestly misappropriated the money and thereby committed an offense contrary to section 311 of the Penal Code and punishable under section 312 of the same Law”.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

In view of his plea, prosecution counsel Musa Isah requested a date for trial.

Counsel representing the defendant, Aminu Umar Yakasai applied for bail on behalf of the defendant.

Justice Sabo granted the defendant bail in the sum N2, 000,000 (Two Million Naira) only and two sureties in like sum.

The matter has been adjourned till August 16, 2021 for trial.
