National Defence College Alumni Decorates Bawa as Patron

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdurasheed Bawa, was on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 decorated as patron of the Alumni Association of the National Defence College, ANNDEC.

The investiture, with a symbolic branded-muffler, was the high point of the visit by executives of the association led by its president, Major General Garba Audu (retd) to the EFCC Headquarters, Abuja.
Gen. Audu said the conferment which is in line with Section 11 of the ANNDEC constitution, was in recognition of the EFCC Chairman’s contributions to the promotion of national security and development.
The EFCC boss is among heads of Agencies that subscribe to courses of the National Defence College.
According to Gen Audu, the National Defence College was established to prepare selected Senior Officers of the Armed Forces, Paramilitary organizations and their counterparts in the public service for higher policy, command and staff responsibilities.
He further disclosed that the association organizes annual security seminars, quarterly security interaction and publication of journals in areas of security, nation building and anti- corruption.
Gen. Audu expressed the association’s willingness to support the work of the Commission.
In his response, the EFCC chairman expressed gratitude for his appointment as patron, and promised to play the role expected of him.
He commended the association for their research initiatives and requested that copies of their journal publications be made available to the EFCC Academy.
Bawa also used the opportunity of the visit to canvass for more slots for the EFCC on the prestigious NDC Course
ANNDEC is the umbrella body comprising graduates of the National Defence College, both serving and retired.
