Anti-graft War: EFCC to Collaborate with Aminu Kano Centre

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is to collaborate with the Aminu Kano Centre for Democratic Studies (AKCDS) in combating corruption through community engagement.

This partnership was mooted during a courtesy visit to the Centre by the Zonal Head of the Kano Office of the Commission, Mualledi Farouq Dogondaji.
Dogondaji in his remarks, disclosed that the Commission was exploring new avenues for expanding engagement and collaboration with stakeholders with a view to educating the public about the ills of corruption.
According to the Zonal Head “enforcement action alone cannot curb corruption in Nigeria, which is why the Commission finds it imperative to come to AKCDS to seek collaboration and partnership”.
The Director of the Centre, Professor Ismaila Gambo assured the Commission that his institution will continue to work with the EFCC in order to rid Nigeria of the menace of corruption.
He stressed the need to address behavioral and attitudinal change through community engagement and, budget tracking in order to prevent fraud and hold persons in authority accountable.
