Photos: ORON RETURNING TO THE GOOD OLD DAYS UNDER GOV EMMANUEL

The journey around Oron local government area of Akwa Ibom State today leaves nostalgic memories.

A sad tale of  neglects by successive administrations had left the area, a sorry shadow of its former self.

Things are now taking a turn for the better. Governor Udom Emmanuel’s intervention is not political but genuine. The 1.8km Murtala Mohammed Way and its adjourning arteries was a great source of worry. That worry is gradually being assuaged by the massive movements of machines and equipment on that road. This extends to several other roads earlier completed and ongoing.  But the big story is that the Oron major express way leading to the beach is now being reconstructed and it does appear relative life will return to the moribund Oron Beach once again.

The stunning characteristic of roads recontruction in Oron is that they come with massive erosion control programme.

Governor Emmanuel is sure finishing stronger and very soon, people will have course to smile, that indeed this is the Oron for which we had always cried.
