Norfin Offshore Shipyard: ANOTHER PLUS TO AKWA IBOM MARITIME DEVELOPMENTS


We all know the story of Engr Charles Udonwa. All his efforts in the past to come in and invest his expertise and knowledge in the state, met brick wall and culminated in his being hounded out of the state at great cost and in great pains.

Like the popular parlance, nkpo ama change, which is seen in the enabling environment, the Etinan born Maritime expert, has heeded the invite of the Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and has brought his investments to the state.

Part of the industrialization drive of the Governor is evident in the recent approval of a free trade zone, the Liberty Free Trade Zone which covers 50,000 hectares of land in Ikot Abasi, Oruk Anam, Ibeno, Onna, Mkpat Enin and Eastern Obolo.

The Norfin Offshore Shipyard is coming with a Jetty and the company is expected to manufacture several types water vessels for security, marine transportation. 

A visit to the factory at Oruk Anam, shows that Akwa Ibom are in for better times. Governor Emmanuel may not be good in noise making, 

but the steady progress in the various sectors of the State’s economy, will continue to make the noise for him.
