You were exposed to all sorts of social vices ranging from thuggery to robbery, hawking to crawling, demolition to destruction, depopulation to desertification. You were isolated and cut off from civilization with various refuse dump sites. You were forced into housing every identifiable crime and criminality and assumed its epicenter, east of the Niger and as such became rejected, abandoned, dejected and baptized with various names so belittling of your befitting status – the center of the center. All these were the resulting effects of longterm negligence by the previous administrations.
Luck shone on you by the emergence of His Excellency, the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, as the Executive Governor of Imo State. Man like no other, loving like a father; caring like a mother and protecting like a brother – pure love encapsulated in his immediate action for the reconstruction and restoration of the beauty and sanctity of my Dear Douglas Road.

The recovery of your glory via the reconstruction of your physical infrastructure by the Shared Prosperity administration of His Excellency, the Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma would usher in a rehabilitation of your inhabitants in all ramification towards treating you with the dignity, respect and regards you deserve.
The discontinuation of trading activities along your shoulders would let your pride shine on; the decongestion of vehicular loading of passengers along the lanes would offer a long-range sighting of your beauty; the appropriate disposal of refuse at approved strategic points would provide an environmental friendly atmosphere for healthy living; the observation of traffic signs and obedience to driving rules would ensure protection of lives.
