Cruelty, brutality and warmongering are well-known traits of Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader. Kanu who promised the mother of all battles before and after the invasion of his Afaraukwu home in 2017, is still telling his supporters from exile that their perceived enemies are doomed for destruction. “All the saboteurs and Fulani herdsmen,” he ranted on his malicious radio, “will face severe consequences.” Kanu’s vainglorious threats and over blown rhetoric once again have been put to the test in Imo State after the Nigerian army and police descended rapaciously on IPOB members who were on their way to Mbaise to bury one of their own
Kanu on numerous occasion have boasted that he shall retaliate the highhanded approach of the government in dealing with IPOB members but however, the resonating question now is, has Kanu ever substantiated his vituperations with actions as more members of his movement are being killed and illegally detained? Kanu has done practically nothing. He only barks while innocent youths are sent to their early grave by the killer squad of the government
One fact Kanu and his cohorts are yet to understand is that, the judgement which cemented the proscription of IPOB has not been over ruled. Considering the body language of the powers that be in Nigeria, it will be very suicidal for kanu and his friends to sweep the judgement of the court under the carpet. The promoters of one Nigeria are not ready to give up and will do anything at all cost to sustain the status quo. The terrorist tag on IPOB was an outright political calculation designed to muzzle and obliterate a movement whose foundation is anchored on unnecessary propaganda
Kanu should be blamed for the attack against his members in Imo State. IPOB is claiming formidability when they lack the military and diplomatic prowess to confront the so called enemy. IPOB might seems peaceful to Kanu and his well wishers but to the powers that be, they are terrorists. The managers of IPOB should go back to the court and challenge the kangaroo process that culminated to their proscription. There is nothing anyone can do to stop the shooting and arrest of IPOB members. People who are sympathetic to their course can only cry and yell while the government that has the yam and knife will keep brutalising them
Moreover, Kanu is making things more difficult for his members in Nigeria. He has said a lot of foolish things on his malicious radio. Things that are unconnected to the ideology he is pursuing. Responsible leaders are meant to bridle their tongue and focus more on a set target but Kanu is far from this principle. He blabs and scream endlessly over things that wouldn’t add value to Biafra question. Today, if he is not talking about Jubril, Magu, herdsmen, boy friends of Aisha Buhari and how Aisha Buhari is an ashawo in aso rock, tomorrow, he will be panting over how he predicted the death of his perceived enemies who orchestrated the infamous operation Python dance. For more than three years, these series of parochial narrative have persisted without producing any meaningful result. Moreover, the Nigerian government frowns at his overbearing noise by reinforcing their anger against IPOB members in Nigeria whenever the opportunity present itself
Kanu should stop cheap rants. It has done more harm than good to whatsoever philosophy he is professing. Kanu said he is a very powerful man that commands over two million men and he can play god if he wishes but unfortunately dozens of his followers are suffering in the hands of the security agencies without Kanu doing anything. How can a powerful man allow his followers to suffer such an abominable fate? Doesn’t it appear to Kanu that he is so powerless if his members are butchered and nothing is been done to help them? Kanu’s numerous blabbing have simply demystified him as a powerless propagandist who can only bark tirelessly from exile while his followers are slaughtered at ease
Nonetheless, time and events have shown that Kanu and his Facebook vuvuzelas are truly powerless. No plan and vision. Their noise over an utopia Biafra will remain on Facebook while the clueless government of Muhammadu Buhari bounces on them at any slightest opportunity. Let’s face the present reality staring at us. Kanu has no army to fight Nigeria. Kanu has no diplomatic wand to push the necessary button among the power brokers. So, his noise is as feeble as tissue paper. People are already getting sick and tired of his bogus noise. It is a matter of time before truth and reality will overrun him
