Delta Governor, Sen. (Dr) Ifeanyi Okowa, has felicitated with the Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Chief John Nani, as he celebrates 60th birth anniversary.
He said that Nani had had outstanding service to the state, working as Publicity Secretary of our party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), member and Majority Whip of the House of Assembly (2011-2015) and Commissioner for Environment (2015-2019).
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Olisa Ifeajika, in Asaba, Okowa particularly extolled Nani for his proactive and diligent performance as commissioner in the first term of his administration.
According to him, Nani’s pragmatic initiatives while in the Ministry of Environment contributed immensely to the control of flooding in parts of the state.
Okowa also acknowledged Nani’s sterling activities as a politician and man-of-the-people, remarking that the Jesse-born political tactician had brought his wealth of experience to bear on his office as ED (F&A), DESOPADEC.
He expressed hope that the best was yet to come for the politician as he joined the league of elders in mentoring the young generation of youths in politics and business.
“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta, I felicitate with an illustrious son of Delta, Chief John Nani, a man of diligence and outstanding patriotism on the occasion of his 60th birth anniversary.
“As EDFA in DESOPADEC, you have contributed immensely to the rejuvenation of the state’s interventionist agency for our oil bearing communities.
“As Commissioner for Environment in my first term, you were exceptionally committed to the course of leading the ministry to achieve our set goals for the environment of our dear State, especially in the control of flooding across the state,” the governor said.
He joined family, friends and associates in celebrating Nani, the political tactician and quintessential gentleman, and prayed that the Almighty God would strengthen him and grant him good health in his continued service to the state and mankind.
