A Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife, Osun State on Friday heard that Akinde Adeniyi, 27, poured hot water on his sleeping wife Deborah on the suspicion that she was having an affair with another man.
Police prosecutor Ona Glory told the court that Adeniyi committed the offence on April 14, 2020 in Modakeke-Ife, adding that the hot water was mixed with pepper.
Adeniyi pleaded not guilty.
Magistrate Joseph Owolawi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum, and adjourned the matter until June 4, for hearing.
