Bauchi discharges another COVID-19 patient

Bauchi State Government has discharged one more COVID-19 patients from its isolation centre who has recovered.

This brings to five the total number of recovered and discharged patients in the state out of the six confirmed cases.

Governor Bala Mohammed who disclosed this on his verified twitter handle Saturday thanked health personnel and the state taskforce on COVID19 for their unrelenting efforts in tackling the spread of the disease.

He wrote, Alhamdulillah. Today, one of the two remaining persons at our isolation centre received a second negative result from the
@NCDCgov.
He has gotten the green-light and has been discharged.

“I thank our health personnel and our taskforce on #COVID19 for their unrelenting effort.” Mohammed said.

He added, “I also urge all indigenes and residents of the state to continue to work with us to keep the state free of #COVID19 by strictly practising social distancing, conscious personal hygiene, and to report any suspicious cases”

It would be recalled that four COVID-19 patients receiving treatment, including the index case, were earlier discharged after testing negative twice for the virus in line with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) procedure.
