Bandits kill village head, one other in Zamfara

Two people have been killed by bandits in an attack on a community of kujemi village in Dansadau Emirate of Maru LGA of Zamfara state.

Police Public relation Officer to the Zamfara State Police Command SP Muhammad Shehu has confirmed.

Shehu while confirming the incident in a press released Monday disclosed that the victims were the Village head and one other person following the attack by suspected armed bandits carried out Sunday by 8:40 pm.

The police further revealed that the suspected armed Bandits came to the community in large number and invaded the village and killed one Malam Gambo of Karauchi Village and Mustapha Halilu of Dansadau district.

The police on receipt of the information, according to Shehu mobilised a Combined team of policemen attached to Operation Puff Adder in Conjunction with the Military and dispatched to the area to forestall further attack on the neighbouring villages as well as to arrest the perpetrators of the heinous act.

The Command appeals for Continued support and Cooperation from Members of the Public by giving useful information on activities of Criminal element with a view to taking proactive measures.
