Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha on Sarurday visited Oguta Lake Motel & Golf Resort on inspection.
Oguta Lake Motel & Golf Resort serves as a major relaxation and recreation center for the ancient and historical Oguta Lake.
The freshwater lake is the second largest natural lake in the country after lake Chad. The Oguta Lake river route also makes Oguta, Osemotor, Awo-omamma and surrounding towns important commercial centers for international trade, mainly for palm oil.
The inspection is part of the efforts streamlined by the #RebuildImo government, in its bid to restore Imo State as a prime spot in tourism destinations in Nigeria, and indeed Africa.
The Governor was accompanied by his deputy, Hon. Engr. Gerald Irona; former governor of Imo State, Chief Ikedi Ohakim; the Chief of Staff to the governor, Chief Barr. Chris Okewulonu, and members of the State House of Assembly, among others.
