Kebbi Governor swears in new local council chairmen

The newly elected Local Government Council Chairmen in Kebbi State have been sworn in.

The ceremony took place at the Government House Chamber immediately after the State Independent Electoral Commission (KESIEC) issued certificates of return to all the 21 newly elected council chairmen.

The swearing -in ceremony was presided over by Governor Abubakar Bagudu while the State Acting Chief Judge, Justice Sulaiman Muhammed Ambursa administered the oath of office on the chairmen.

Bagudu charged the newly elected chairman to get to work and concentrate on internal generate revenue for their various local governments.

He also urged them to accord priority to security challenges in their local government areas.

Bagudu noted the exercise was free and fair.

He, therefore, commended the State Independent Electoral Commission (KESIEC) for providing a level- playing ground for all the political parties in the state.
