Sultan of Sokoto directs Muslims to look out for new moon of Rabi’u Awwal

Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has directed the Muslim ummah to start looking out for the new moon of Rabi’u Awwal 1441AH from Monday 28th October 2019 which is equivalent to 29th day of Safar 1441AH.

In a statement signed by the Chairman Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs of the Sultanate Council, Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu said on sighting the moon, it should be reported to the nearest District or Village Head for onward communication to His Eminence, Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar.

“May Allah (SWT) help us in the discharge of this religious duty, amen”, the statement concluded.
