President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday chaired an extraordinary Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
It started around 12noon when the President arrived the Council Chamber of the State House.
Those at the meeting apart from ministers are the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha.
Others are the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari and Acting Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi-Esan.
The meeting is to consider the 2020 budget proposals before its presentation to the National Assembly on Tuesday by 2pm.
It’s expected to cross the ‘t’s and dot the ‘I’s in final preparation for the submission of the budget to the two chambers of the National Assembly.
The early submission is towards returning the Federal Government budget cycle from May-June to January-December.
The presentation was meant to have taken place in the third week of September, but was stalled by President Buhari’s participation at the 74th United Nations General Assembly.
Buhari also last week proceeded to South Africa on state visit to honor the invitation of South Africa President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The meeting was in progress in Aso Rock at the time of filing this report.
