At least three dead as farmers, herders clash in Jigawa

A farmer and two others were killed on Wednesday as farmers and herders allegedly clashed in Jigawa State.

The Commissioner of Police Bala Zama Senchi confirmed that separate clashes occurred in different local government areas.

He said one of the victims was from Guri Local Government Area, adding that three persons from Kirikasamma were injured.

Senchi said another person was killed in Shuwarin town in Kiyawa LGA. He was stabbed in his chest by an unknown person.

Another person was killed at Jiba village in Dutse. He was hit on the head. The victims’ details are yet to be confirmed as the time of filing this report.

The Police chief said the command has deployed 400 officers and men to prevent reprisal attacks.
