Nigeria LNG moves closer to Train 7 investment decision

Nigeria LNG said it signed a letter of intent on Wednesday with a consortium for the engineering, procurement and construction of the Train 7 facility at its liquefied natural gas plant on Bonny Island.

NLNG said in its statement that this was a significant step toward a final investment decision for the Train 7 project which will ramp up NLNG’s production by 35% to 30 million tonnes of LNG per year.

The project has been delayed for several years.

The letter of intent was signed with a consortium of companies comprising Italy’s Saipem, Japan’s Chiyoda and South Korea’s Daewoo, NLNG said.
