Expect more flood, NIHSA tells states

The Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) has called on states to prepare for more flooding as a result of heavy rainfall.

Director- General of the agency, Engr. Clement Nze disclosed this at a briefing in Abuja on Wednesday.

He said more floods were expected with the alarming rate of rainfall the country is experiencing presently.

Nze said river flooding will begin next month as a result of increase in water from Rivers Niger and Benue.

He said there is a high probability that more states will witness more river and urban flooding in the coming months.
