Inauguration of 9th Assembly: Tight security checks at NASS gates

There is a serious security beef up at the National Assembly Complex ahead of the inauguration of the 9th Assembly.

All the three entrances into the National Assembly (Presidential, SGF and Mopol Gate) were blocked with vehicles by security personnel.

There was a heavy presence of men of the DSS, Police and Civil Defence at the entrances and around the NASS complex.

Staff and reporters that did not have accreditation purposely meant for the inaugurating were turned back. Even the regular National Assembly identity cards could not get workers into the complex.

Consequently, owners of vehicles had to seek alternate parking lots to park their vehicles while some simply turned round and went home.
