Gombe House of Assembly elects Abubakar Sadiq as Speaker

The Gombe State House of Assembly has elected the member representing Yamaltu Deba West, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Sadiq Ibrahim, as Speaker for the sixth Assembly.

Ibrahim was nominated for the post by Musa Buba, (APC Balanga constituency) and seconded by Abdulahi Abubakar of Akko West constituency.

Meanwhile, Shuaibu Adamu Haruna, from Kwami West constituency, also emerged the deputy speaker.

He was nominated by Mustapha Usman (Gombe South constituency). His nomination was seconded by Abdulkareem Nasiru, (Dukku North constitutency).

After swearing-in his colleagues, the Speaker said,  “We will carry out our duty with probity and integrity. I understand that I’m first amongst equals. Gombe is facing several challenges such as lack of water supply, healthcare.

“We will not let the people down. We look forward to getting correspondences,” he noted.
