The Sokoto State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has again called on the Peoples Democratic Party-led state government to stop attacking its members in the state.
The party said the state belonged to everyone, irrespective of political affiliations.
The state chairman of the party, Isa Acida, made the call at a press conference on Tuesday in Sokoto.
Acida said, “We note, with deepest concern, some recent obnoxious and dastardly developments culminating in some untoward acts of aggression, repression and intimidation being perpetrated against supporters of APC in the state.
“Is the Sokoto State Government aware of civil servants and local government officers being physically assaulted and sent out of their offices arbitrarily and instantly replaced by PDP hoodlums?
“Is the state government aware that traders are now being denied the right to sell their wares in places previously owned and run by them for single reason of being or suspected to be APC supporters?
“Is the government aware that people are being exorbitantly and arbitrarily levied before they are allowed to conduct commercial activities in our markets in towns and villages across the town among others?”
He asked the state government to halt the trend and take necessary steps to apprehend the perpetrators and charge them to court.
