A 29-year-old man, Chrstopher Ezeh, on Tuesday took Northern Cyprus police to the scene and gave detained information on how he murdered Walshak Augustine Ngok, 25, who was found dead in a forest area in Haspolat on Friday last week .
According to the suspect, he had a fight with Ngok who was his roommate over an unrevealed dispute at a restaurant in Girne and when the police interfered both fought with the police.
The pair continued the fight when they got home leading to the death of Ngok in an apartment in Lavinum, Bosphorous.
The suspect told police that he dragged an unconscious Ngok by the leg down the stairs of their apartment after committing the crime, the accused took the victim in car through the Lefkosa high way to the Tashkent-Haspolat forest area and left the body there.
The suspect threatened his friends who knew about the incident. Police were able to track the vehicle through camera images.
An autopsy carried out on Ngok revealed that he died from head trauma as a result of severe beating, the student suffered from blunt head trauma, cerebral hemorrhage and loss of breath as a result of being choked.
Earlier on Monday, the 29-year-old suspect was brought to a Lefkosa court along 11 others. Six people told court that they were innocent of the crime.
Investigation revealed that the suspect had lived in the country for eight years.
The suspects are currently remanded in prison while investigation by the police continues.
