Senator tackles Obasanjo, Atiku over N16bn Lagos ports fund

Senator representing Nasarawa West in the Senate, Abdullahi Adamu, has challenged former president Olusegun Obasanjo and his deputy, Atiku Abubakar, to explain to Nigerians how they spent N16bn for Lagos port reconstruction and N20bn for Lagos airport expansion.

He also said they should explain the N1.4bn conversion of steam and power plants; N47.4bn conversion of the Alaoji Power Plant to double circuit and N3.5 billion for procurement and repair of two boilers at the Egbin Power Station in Lagos.

According to him, Atiku headed the economy team during the Obasanjo administration and initiated the privatisation of government enterprises.

He added that none of the enterprises was functional until President Muhammadu Buhari came into power.

Adamu spoke in Umashia in the Toto Local Government Area of the state during his campaign rally on Saturday.

He also said the current economic hardship in the country was caused by the administrations of ex-presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan.
