Ola Aina seals €10m Torino permanent deal

Ola Aina

Ola Aina will complete a €10m move to Torino in the summer, according to reports in Italy.

As per claims made by Tuttosport, as cited on Football Italia, the club have reached an agreement with Chelsea to take up their option to buy the player.

Aina, 22, has been impressing in Serie A this season and Torino are keen to tie down his services. He’s been in fine form for Torino after also impressing on loan for Hull City in the English Championship last term.

He joined the Italian side on a one-year loan deal from Chelsea at the start of the current season.

As part of the loan agreement, Torino had the option to sign Aina at a pre-arranged price of €10m.

A relatively small cost that now looks like a bargain for the Italian outfit, with Aina among the best performing young defenders in Serie A this season.

Walter Mazzarri is said to be a huge admirer and it remains to be seen what amount of first-team football, if any at all, will be on offer in London next season.

The Italians are thought to have weighed up an offer in the January transfer window but decided to bide their time.

English Championship club QPR and Dutch side PSV Eindhoven were also linked with Aina over the summer.

Aina has made 22 league appearances for Torino this season with a goal to his name.

But Cesar Azpilicueta has captained Chelsea from right-back this season, though there have been question marks surrounding his performances of late.

With a transfer ban on the way, Aina’s departure could be another deal that might not go down well with supporters of the Blues.
