Real Madrid set unwanted record of 482 minutes without scoring

Real Madrid hit a new low under beleaguered coach Julen Lopetegui as they set an unwelcome club record of 482 minutes without scoring during a 2-1 defeat at home to Levante, their third successive loss in all competitions.

Defender Marcelo ended the historic wait for a goal by smashing into the roof of the net in the 71st minute against Levante, after the visitors had taken the lead through Jose Luis Morales and a penalty scored by Roger Marti.

Before Marcelo struck against Levante, Real’s last goal in any competition had come in a 1-0 win against Espanyol on Sept. 22, with them failing to score in their following games with Sevilla, Atletico Madrid, CSKA Moscow and Alaves.
