President of world football–governing body, FIFA, Gianni Infantino has congratulated Mr. Amaju Pinnick on his re-election on Thursday, as President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
NationSport reports that Pinnick polled 34 votes to beat three other contestants to retain his seat. Alhaji Aminu Magari got eight votes; Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi got two votes, while Chinedu Okoye did not have any vote in the election which took place in Katsina State.
In a letter dated 20th September, 2018, FIFA president said he looks forward to continue working with the Pinnick, while wishing the new Executive Committee success during their tenure.
“Dear President, allow me to extend to you my warmest congratulations on your re-election as President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for the 2018-22 period, at today’s NFF Elective Congress in Katsina State.
“Please also convey my congratulations to all your colleagues of the Executive Committee who were with you.
“I wish you and your team the best of luck, strength and every success for all the challenges that lie ahead.
“I look forward to continuing to work with you and seeing you soon to congratulate you in person,” the letter read.
