Tunde Balogun emerges APC chairman in Lagos

Alhaji Tunde Balogun on Saturday emerged the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos.

The Chairman of APC Congress Committee in the state, Senator Uche Ekwuenife, has earlier said there would be no voting during the exercise.

Thus the new executives were picked based on affirmation by the delegates.

Also, Alhaji Haddi Ametuo has emerged as the factional chairman of the party in Kogi State.

The erstwhile party chieftain emerged at the APC parallel Congress held at Felele area of Lokoja, the state capital.

The faction has the backing of the Audu/Faleke APC Political Organization, while Alhaji Ibrahim Ahovi, the Acting Chairman of the party in the state, was supported by Governor Yahaya Bello.

The Congress produced a secretary and 25 other state executive members.

The Director General of Media and Publicity to the Governor, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, has however described the group as lacking morals and discipline.

According to Fanwo, Ametuo and his “co-travellers” have committed a “political treason.”

Fanwo, in a statement in Lokoja, described the group as a “shameless fraud that had no regard for the APC constitution.”
