Fleeing Senator Melaye’s accuser, two other suspects rearrested

The police in Kogi State claimed yesterday to have rearrested three of the six suspects that escaped from the custody of the Zone ‘A’ Division Lokoja, the  state capital , on  Wednesday.

The six were said to be working for Senator Dino Melaye.

A highly placed police sourcesaid that Nuhu Salisu, a.k.a Small,who allegedly named Melaye as their sponsor   was among those rearrested.

The source who does  not want his name mentioned did not say where the men were rearrested.

Nuhu Salisu and Kabir Seidu, a.k.a Osama, were among the six suspected criminals that escaped from the ‘A’ Division of the Kogi State Police Command in Lokoja in the early hours of Wednesday.

They were  arrested in January for allegedly confessing to being sponsored by the Melaye, ahead of the 2019 election.

The then Commissioner of Police, Mr.  Ali Janga, who was  removed from office following the Wednesday escape named the  other escapees as: Aliyu Isa, Adams Suleiman, Emmanuel Audu and Musa Mohammed.

He said that following the development, all the escapees, Melaye and Mohammed Audu were now on the Interpol watch list, while Melaye and Mohammed Audu were  declared wanted.
