A mother was arrested for stabbing her son’s classmate.

Prosecutors in Ikoma, Nara, Japan, said that 41-year-old Rie Chisaka was arrested on suspicion of trying to kill an 8-year-old girl.

The mother was ordered to undergo a three-month psychiatric evaluation to determine whether she is fit to stand trial.

Chisaka stabbed the 8-year-old girl, who is her son’s classmate, around 4:00 p.m. at her home.

The girl went to the home to play with Chisaka’s son, and at some point, when Chisaka was alone with the girl, she stabbed her several times in the chest.

Chisaka called for help at 4:10 p.m. and reported that a girl in her house had been injured.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where she is said to be in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said that Chisaka, a part-time worker, admitted the charge and made some incoherent statements, saying that she believed that the girl was bullying her son and that there had been problems between her and the girl’s family.

However, police said they found no indication of problems between the families or that Chisaka’s son was being bullied at school.

Prosecutors said Chisaka is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation to determine if she can stand trial for attempted murder.
