The Chief of Staff to the Niger state Governor, Honorable Mikail Alamin Shekwoaga have been invited for questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC ) over a case of obtaining money under false pretense and abuse of office.
The invitation was contained in a letter addressed to the Secretary to the Niger State Government with reference number CR:0000/EFCC/ABJ/AFF 2/VOL 7/804 and titled ‘Investigative Activities, Letter of Invitation. ‘
The Executive Director of the Niger State Primary Health Development Agency (NSPHDA), Dr. Yahaya Nau’zo was also invited for questioning by the anti-corruption agency.
The letter read, ‘This office is investigating a case of obtaining money under false pretense and abuse of office in which the need to obtain clarification from your staff have become imperative.
“In view of the above, you are requested to release the Executive Director (NSPHDA), Dr. Yahaya Nauzo and the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Mukail Alamin Shekwoaga Bmitosahi to interview the undersigned through the team leader AFF 2 at No 5 Ademola Crescent Wuse II Abuja on Monday 11th December, 2017 at 10.00 am. ”
Efforts made by The Nation to find out if the Chief of Staff and the Executive Director of NSPHDA attended the interview proved abortive; efforts to get the SSG or the Chief of Staff to comment about the invitation also proved abortive as they were out of the state as at the time of filing this report.
