Scots should be able to choose future after Brexit, Sturgeon says

Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, sits on stage at the Scottish National Party conference in Glasgow

The case for Scottish independence is not dependent on Brexit, but Scots should be able to choose their own future when the terms of Britain’s exit from the European Union are clear, Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said on Tuesday.

“Scotland should have the right to choose our future when the terms of Brexit are clear. We have a mandate to give the people that choice,” Sturgeon told her pro-independence Scottish National Party conference to loud cheers.
